Easter picnic in the backyard

HE is not here..HE is risen!

"He is not here, for He has risen just as He said. Come see the place where He was lying." from the gospel of Matthew 28:6

This is a big deal, important in ways we can't fathom...and made tangible in our little home with little hands and a little yard clippings. The simple things in life to reveal the most profound of mysteries.

Good Friday - lego man wrapped with cloth laid in the potato tomb and guarded by the Roman soldier. Tomb sealed with a rock

Resurrection Day/ Easter morning - tomb is open, rock rolled away, Roman soldier gone, flowers abound and the angel comes to proclaim "He is Risen"

This great Easter idea from this blog and this one.

Here is an amazing song that I am singing this morning - grateful for Jesus.

More Easter Egg hunt

checking out the loot - candy and money!

Easter Egg Hunt

We were invited to an amazing Easter Egg hunt to day by some friends at church. We were overwhelmed at their hospitality and generosity. I think for the 30 or so children there were 2500 eggs - amazing! My children had a wonderful time hunting, playing with friends and enjoying the day...Jeremy and I enjoyed their excitement...Lydia enjoyed the cookies!

Hello Spring!

Lydia loves looking out the door at the birds, squirrels and falling rain...she loves to be outside just like her siblings (and every kid - right?) She was particularly excited when Lucy popped up after playing in the spring showers -

Deep thoughts

After picking up Samuel from school we were having a discussion about hard work, being diligent in school even when things are hard, and how to enjoy being challenged and Lucy interjects

"Yeah, if you don't work hard then when you grow up you'll be one of those people dressed up like the Statue of Liberty" (you know those people in costume advertising tax help)

She's learning...that Lucy girl is a smart cookie.

Spring beginning

Winter has been hiding from us this year but the spring weather, birds chirping and afternoons in the yard have been delightful

Take me out to the ball game....

Samuel had his first t-ball game this weekend. It was a beautiful day and he had such a great time. He made a few plays out in right field and even made it around the bases once to score the last run of the game. The Hornet's won the game and our spring baseball season starts with a bang...

More baseball

Grandpa Noonan joined us for the game, Daddy helped with the coaching and Lucy was there for the experience...and the refreshments! And Lydia and Mama tried (without success) to keep from getting sunburned.

Sweet Kiddos

These are a few of the things that made me smile this week...
