Three Year Check-up

I went to the doctor yesterday to get a check-up and referal for my monster size tonsils to be checked out. Most of the visit was routinue - weight, 31 lbs, height 3 ft 3 inches, all body parts accounted for, etc. But toward the end, after Lucy and I had been there forever - it seemed - the doctor asked me to pee in a cup. WHAT? That is definately NOT something Mama would usually approve of but this time she seemed keen on helping me get pee in the cup. I really didn't have to go but the doctor said I could have a sucker if I went pee in the cup.

This begins the tail of a torture session -
1. There was no easy way to sit on the toilet and get the Solo size cup under me (yes, the cup was a huge paper cup)
2. Standing in the floor and aiming was NOT relaxing
3. Mama kept trying to keep Lucy from leaning in the toilet or splashing in the toilet bowl (this was very distracting)
4. I started to scream about the time I got frustrated that no pee was coming out and I thought I was doomed to NOT get a sucker after all this work and the long time of being "good" up til now.
5. Mama began laughing as she held my pee cup, talked to Lucy and sat on the floor.
6. I was still crying that the pee wouldn't come out and I wanted a sucker.
7. Mama had allready turned the water on (sometimes this helps) but now I employed my final tactic - deep breaths, deep breaths - Mama started laughing again and Lucy got one good hand in the toilet.
8. Mama finished laughing hysterically and said we could give up, wash hands and head home - really why do they want my pee anyway?
9. Mama peed - she had been holding it for a long time and then looked around for a hidden camera!
10. We left with a pee cup in Mama's purse to pee in later and bring back (a sleaker, smaller model) and a yummy watermelon sucker.

Whew - what kind of tricks will they want me to do when I turn 4?

Ahhhhhhh...Chocolate

At the end of a long hard day there is nothing better than ....CHOCOLATE!

Potty Time

Assume the position

Concentrate

Celebrate

Lucy is doing such a great job going poo-poo on the potty. She even goes peepee when Mama catches her. She isn't ready to be a big boy like me yet but she is on her way - much sooner than I was - Mama is so happy!

More Quotes

OK - Mama doesn't know if it's just the magical time in life or what but this week I've kept mama rolling with my talking - here are a few quotes that seem to catch Mama's attention. Warning - some of these are graphic and hopefully will not offend but hey - I'm just learning!

While eating spaghetti - "Mama, I don't like POTATO sauce" then Mama said "Well, that is good - this isn't Potato sauce - so eat your tomato sauce" Somehow I still had to eat my potato sauce -

I saw a firetruck today that had Chilly Willy and Woody Wood Pecker on it. Mama told me that she and Uncle Casey used to watch it on the only TV station they got at the farm. Later I asked Mama if I could be a fireman like "woody woody the pecker" Mama just laughed at me.

I have been extremely curious the past week about the male and female anatomy. I kept asking Mama where Lucy's penis was. Then today when I was talking with Mama I said "Mama, when Lucy grows up and is a big boy like me - then she will have a penis!" I just didn't quite get it that Lucy will not be a boy and I still am not sure where her penis is (trust me I keep asking). Sometimes I think Mama is at a loss for words to know how to answer me - but I am persistent.

Quotes

After finishing a yummy ear of corn - "Mama here is my bone" (mama told me it was a corn cob)

While sitting on Mama's lap reading bedtime stories "Mama I need to get my blanket, your legs are SPICY!" (OK, Mama has got to shave her legs)

First Day of School

Today I started 3K. I had a great time ------Mama missed me!

An Olympic Celebration

Last week several nights we made food from a different country and colored flags from that country. Mama is so excited about the Olympics and wants us to enjoy it too. It is a great way to remember God's heart for the nations as we cheer on team USA!

One of the nights we made pizza, colored an Italian flag, hung Daddy's Croatian flag up and listen to Klapa music while we ate our pizza. We prayed for people in Italy and Croatia before we ate and mama showed us on the globe where those countries are. Another night we made tacos and prayed for friends in Mexico and Spain. I have really liked watching the olympics to far and especially like the idea of racing - I try to beat Lucy whenever I can!

Thursday Night Thunder

Daddy took me to Thursday Night Thunder at Atlanta Motor Speedway this summer. He thought we ought to get into the Henry County culture - I think I'm hooked but I just don't know if Daddy will ever be a race car fan (he likes to watch me enjoy it though). We went most Thursday nights this summer and my friends Torbin and Thomas came too with their Daddy. We had so much fun! Last Thursday night was the last race for the summer and I can't until next summer -

My friend, Mr. Turtle

Grandma and Papa have lots of gopher turtles near their house. I like to look for them and they seem to always come out before a rain. During one morning explore with Mama we found this friend.

I told Mama I was going to name him "Mr. Turtle" Mama said that was a fitting name and Lucy and I played with Mr. Turtle for a while. Mr. Turtle even helped me dig for dinosaur bones.

We didn't find any bones but I did make up a song for Mr. Turtle that was sung to the tune of Great is Thy Faithfulness. Lucy liked waving at Mr. Turtle and kept telling him hey - she didn't want to help dig for bones or sing but she did dance and run.

Lucy being one with nature and meditating - we think

More Messy fun

OK - this is a little out of chronological order but I don't want to forget to share these pictures.

While on the farm with grandma and Papa for a couple of weeks we had so much fun. We stayed with Grandma while Mama had finals at school. Mama did well in her classes this summer - I'm not sure what she was studying - something about numbers, body parts and things you can't even see (that class must be like pretend because my couch can be a pirate ship even when I can't see that it looks like a pirate ship). The classes were called Statistics, Anatomy and Microbiology. ANYWAYS - we played on the farm and when Mama came and stayed for a while we played even harder. I think Mama has as much fun playing on the farm as I do. Well, every afternoon it rained and since Mama fondly remembers playing in the rain and mud puddles - we played in the puddles.

We didn't photograph the process of puddle jumping - if you need the specific how-to's you can talk to mama - but here is the final product.

After playing in the mud puddles at the end of the road, I decided to run back to the house with General while Mama and Lucy rode the ranger back. Grandma caught me on camera as I rounded the last corner for home...

Mama decided not to be in the picture but here Lucy and I are after a great time in the mud (my underwear used to be white). I even laid in the mud and looked up at the pretty clouds (it took mama a while to get all the dirt out of my hair)

Though I sometimes am not very sweet to my sister I do love her and really liking playing her. I'm glad she will always be my playmate - just like the brother and sister Mama tells me stories about "the little redheaded girl and the little brown headed boy"...

Lucy on my chopper trike - she is a cuddly mess!

Banana Pudding

Yesterday we made banana pudding. I helped Mama by cutting up the bananas. When mama told me I could use the butter knife to cut up the bananas, I was quick to remind her that, "But Mommy, you said that I couldn't play with a knife because they are dangerous and I could cut myself." She assured me it was ok and I cut up the bananas (and ate a few) and Lucy put the cookies in the bottom of the bowl (and ate a few) - well here is how it went - just in case you would like to make some yourself!

Here we are with cut bananas (more like banana chunks) and a few cookies in the bowl...

Here we are sampling the goods - they pass inspection...

After pouring in the pudding and the milk we stirred - most of it stayed in the bowl...

Lucy liked licking the beaters we used as wisks - yummy...

And then Mama said we needed to help clean up SO we made ourselves useful and cleaned..

Yummy perfection!

I think Daddy liked eating the pudding when he got home from his first day of school about as much as we enjoyed making it. Mama had quite a bit to clean up after the culinary endeavor but she seems to not mind us making messes in the name of art, education, experience (or fun - see blog on mud puddles).

Back again!

Mama has been slack the last several weeks on letting me blog. I will have to catch you up on what has been going on around here - like my 3rd birthday! and a trip to grandmas - but first I'll try and catch you up...

This is my last week before school starts and I'm glad Mama is finished with school for the summer and can stay at home with us this week while Daddy goes back to work. We had a great day today - the library, post office and to Chick-fil-A to use our coupons from the summer reading program at the library. I LOVED the train at the Truett's Grill - I just couldn't be still!

Yesterday our day started out wonderful. We colored and then made Daddy some banana pudding AFTER that the day went downhill fast but I'll leave out the details except to say I'm glad God gave lots of love to Mama's for their little boys.

I am starting to like coloring and Lucy LOVES it. Mama says I am pretty particular about everything and that goes for my coloring too. While I was coloring I had to make sure I colored with every crayon and then lined it up neatly when I was done. I had lots of fun and Lucy enjoyed the coloring and managed to not eat a single crayon.
