7

one, two, three, four, five, six and SEVEN

It was an afternoon full of 7 year old boy fun - because that is what he is now - a seven year old boy.  He's tall, with one snaggle tooth hanging on for dear life and he welcomed the amazing friends God has brought into our paths this year.  The friends came and celebrated with us - the red balloon decorations provided 20-30 minutes worth of unprompted chaotic fun in the living room while the boys 'fought' with the balloons, then there were several LEGO building games (who can build the tallest tower in 2 minutes, build a LEGO Star Wars spaceship) and the water gun fights in the backyard (Daddy surprised the boys with the storm trooper mask and soaked them all with the super soaker water gun)  and when they were SOAKING wet with water and the backyard was dripping with laughter and fun - we ate the LEGO brick cake decorated with LEGO STAR WARS.  What a sweet time!  The birthday bash of simple boy fun....and one redheaded boy smiling wide at the memories made with friends.

Quotes

Upon seeing the movie Star Wars for the first time last week, Lucy exclaimed "The Emperor doesn't brush his teeth very much!"

Samuel, Lucy and I were playing ball in the living room - you know a little monkey in the middle and some handball when Samuel said to Lucy "You're a worthy component, Lucy!"  (I love how, in their exploration of new words they often mix two possible words - like opponent and competitor or Lucy's 'toribble' a mix of terrible and horrible.)
