Fun with my sister

Mama wondered what I was doing laying in the sidewalk - I told her I was praying for the Indians who helped the pilgrims - like Squanto and Sitting Bull. OK, Sitting Bull didn't help the pilgrims but he rode a neat horse and wore feathers in his hair.
The Fall days are shorter but the weather is so nice for playing outside in the yard. Our favorite "toy" these days are empty boxes. Lucy likes to crawl, I like to jump and we can make the boxes into a wall, a tower, a yard for our playhouse and all kinds of things.
Mama likes to dress Lucy in tights - they make the same outfit go a long way - here are Lucy's favorite tights (while she sails away like a princess in her pink boat)

Thanksgiving Feast

Thursday at school we had a Thanksgiving feast. My classmates and I sand songs and did a play for our parents. My line was "Let's give thanks" Mama thought we did a great job . I really liked my pilgrim hat Mrs. Morgan made for me so that we could pretend to be pilgrims on the Mayflower.

Quotes

Mama: "Samuel, are you going to be a pilgrim for your Thanksgiving Feast at school?"
Samuel: "Mama, we aren't going to be pilgrims, we are just going to pretend!!!"

Mama: "Samuel do you know what we celebrate on Christmas?"
Samuel:" um, um..."
Mama: "We celebrate Jesus' birthday."
Samuel: "No we don't because Jesus is in heaven with his Father God - we can't have a party for him here!"

While eating chicken -
Samuel: "Mama, who killed this chicken?"
Mama: laughs too much to respond

Samuel: "Mama, when I grow up can I have an automatic game (meaning a video game he saw at walmart) that has frogs in it?
Mama: "Sure, when you get bigger"
Samuel: "Mama, when I am one hundred years old can I have a game with frogs in it then?"
Mama: "When you are 100 you can have whatever you want!"
Samuel: "Yippee!"

Mama found some Thanksgiving tatoos - pilgrims, pumpkins, leaves, hay bales and we put them on -
Samuel: "Mama, can you get this BAMBOO off of me?"

We are thankful

Thanksgiving is Mama's favorite holiday. Simple, little commercialization, and a cozy time to remember all of the ways we have to be thankful to the LORD. At "school" I painted a turkey and told my teacher a few things I was thankful to God for - my friend Kenneth, my Papa and riding on his Ranger and my sister Lucy. I have been trying to remember a verse from the Bible "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good, His Love endures forever." That is what we are trying to do at home - remember God's goodness and be thankful! Some other things I am thankful for are my family and my friends and my cars and my sword. AND I'm thankful for all of you!

She's growing up

Lucy is getting used to wearing a bow (her hair is starting to get a little longer and Mama is going to have to cut some of her little girl mullet)
Lucy wants to wear big boy underwear (she pee-peed in the potty last week!!! but is not consistent yet)

Lucy is so silly and likes to carry things in her purse and buckets - even herself!

My Mama

Mama has officially been accepted to the Nursing program at Clayton State University. She will begin her BSN program in January and have 2 more years until she is an RN. I'm glad she is going to be a nurse - maybe I can get some car bandaids or not have to get shots and still get one of those stickers! Mama hopes she gets to be a nurse in the jungle or a country where there aren't many nurses - maybe when she grows up!

My Daddy

I'm also thankful for my Daddy - he likes play basketball with me, sword fight, ride bikes and read to me. He likes to ask me lots of questions, he laughs with me and lets us have pizza for dinner. I love my Daddy. Here is a picture from our trip to see Daddy's family in New England - I love you Daddy.

Lucy's Girlie Escape

Last Thursday, Mrs. Jessica was so sweet and let Lucy come and play with Hannah while Mama worked on her paper. Lucy had so much fun with Hannah doing girlie things- dancing, playing with dolls, all dressed in pink! Lucy's other friend Ellie was there too. From what I hear they had a great time AND Mama was so grateful! Thanks Mrs. Jessica. If you want to see some of the pictures from the girlie, froo-froo time (and check out Mr. John's ten point) you can check out Hannah and Grant's blog at http://theharmanhood.blogspot.com/

Feeling better

Mama spent most of this weekend sick. On Friday she had a cheerleader as she threw-up multiple times - Lucy clapped for her every time she made it to the toilet (mama claps for Lucy when she makes it in the toilet- I guess Lucy was returning the favor). I'm not sure the cheering squad was a welcome comfort but Mama made it through and today was feeling better (Mama needs to write that paper that is due tomorrow!). Mama took us for a walk today while Daddy went for his Sunday afternoon bike ride. I had a great time riding my bike this afternoon and even stopped to pick some flowers for Lucy and Mama - here are our afternoon shots

Quotes - "Mama, if I get sick will I get the chicken SPOTS?"
Quote - "Mama, I'll close your door so you can be LONELY now."

One Pooped Princess!

Lucy was pooped by the end of the night and rode home with all the loot - and her favorite sucker still attached to her thumb.

More Halloween pics

We went to Publix with our friends Jordan and Connor and then went trick-or-treating with another Lucy "Lucy the ladybug" from down the street. It was fun, we got candy, I was VERY excited to see the costumes - "Wow Mama, can I go meet the Flash" "Mama, look there's Batman!"

Pumpkins and Parties

Here are a few pictures of Lucy and me with our pumpkin and at my school party yesterday...

This is my teacher Mrs. Morgan, she is great!

Here is my class

This is my good buddy Zayd

This is my fairy princess sister, she was suposed to be a firedog but kept wanting to put her tutu on over her outfit. Mama just let her be a princess - I told Mama "Lucy's so Toot!"
