We had most of the materials for the catapults at home (clothes pins from our clothesline, juice bottle tops, craft sticks, 1x3 in the garage, a hot glue gun and a circular saw to cut the board) Here it is - I found the ideas online.

The catapult
For Samuel's birthday we made catapults for the boys and they used them to fire marshmellows at the dragons. (Samuel wanted a life-size catapult so they could shoot stuff but I told him we would have to settle for handheld catapults.) Samuel, Lucy and I had a great time making them and have played with them since the party. I have found hard marshmellows under chairs, in the hallway, under pillows...maybe I need some better ammo for the house...fortunately the yard full of marshmellows melted in the rain or they were carried off by the ants.

And here is the shield Samuel made for the party. He didn't want to copy the lion I printed out - he made his own.
