Hearts

With every other Mom and Dad and American I pray with heavy heart for our country - for those hurting from the tragedy in CT and those who have fear creeping into their hearts.  Unlike many of our friends, my children attend public school - an elementary school that could have been Sandy Brook. My children are in kindergarten and second grade. My children could have been those children.

I'm praying hard for PEACE - hard for right perspective and clinging as I can to what is True and Right and Beautiful - these three energetic children who rub against me on the couch during family worship remind me in the flesh about what is important, what to cling to, what to linger on and what to not leave untold.  What a great time to remember Immanuel - God with us in the flesh - into the madness, the brokeness, the hurt - to bring Wholeness and Peace and Comfort!

AND for our physical hearts around here -

Today we had our annual check ups for Samuel and Lucy at the cardiologist.  The short version is Lucy's PDA hasn't gotten any smaller but no bigger - so we are THANKFUL.

Samuel has been having chest pain, tightness and a "strange feeling" for the last several months.  Not sure what is going on and hope it is just a normal variation of his heart murmur.  To confirm all of this he will be wearing a monitor for the next few days to try and capture the issue on monitor - pray with me that there will be an episode while the monitor is on.  He usually has them every day or every other day.

I guess we'll move onto other body parts later this week!
